Will you be at any of the summer activities in downtown Elmira this summer??
I love this place. Food is awesome and great customer service.
Great food, quick service, and super polite and welcoming. Amount of food for price is great as well. Try the scotch bonnet sauce!
Moregreat food,clean and comfortable
I was quite impressed with the excellent service and the fantastic food! The whole place is very bright, clean, and well kept. The pricing is good, especially considering the portion sizes and the work put in to each dish they make. If I could give it six stars I would!
MoreAuthentic flavor, the chef has been cooking this food all her life. This is the only Jamaican restaurant within hundreds of miles, and possibly the cleanest Jamaican restaurant I've ever eaten at; all the furniture and flooring and fixtures and counter are new. Husband is front-of-house, friendly, works to expand the business; they also cater. Scotch bonnet pepper sauce on the side, a little goes a long way. Hearty and authentic vegan cabbage and carrot; macaroni & cheese; red beans and rice; curried shrimp, curried goat; the portions are too big! Menu changes each week; open 1130am-730pm only.
MoreGood food and friendly staff
This one is my fav to go for a Jamaican food. I love their spiciness, their curry oxtails/shrimps, jerk pork/chicken and vegan soya - chilly. The owners also friendly and i am really pleased with their food and price.
MoreGreat friendly family run business! Great food! Thanks again
Very good food
Absolutely love the food there, especially the Oxtail (My favorite!)
Nice staff and good food. I would say its well above average but my girlfriend is now obsessed with their food and says it's the greatest ever. So I'll split the difference and say the food pretty great.
MoreDelicious food and wonderful service. Recommend to everyone! And they cater!
This is a gem in the middle of a strip mall. Flavors are bold and savory. Take it is a great option as the are only a few tables. Not"fine dining " but delicious and authentic.
MoreEasily my new favorite restaurant in New York! Wonderful service and incredible flavors, taste of Jamaica answered two of my greatest restaurant needs simultaneously: excellent spicy flavors and they have some next level fried plantains! The hours are a little funky, but it's so good it'd be worth it even if it was only open every third Thursday from midnight to 1:00am. Thank you Taste of Jamaica, may God bless you for the wonderful things you do in your kitchen!
MoreOMG everyone please tell yo mamma. Come get hooked up.
Kind people, delicious authentic food, generous portions, and priced below where it should be! We are lucky to live close by. Try the hot sauce. Flavorful, but packs one hell of a punch, ouch!
MoreVery good food & great customer service.
Authentic taste of the Caribbean. Delicious food, charming service, comfortable atmosphere, and fair prices.
MoreHealthy and delicious food. They owner is such a nice guy as well.
I absolutely love this place and the owners they are very nice and welcoming and to top it off the food is so authentic... I love the oxtail with red bean and rice with there greens.
MoreDelicious food. Went tonite second time and tried their goat curry with carrots and cabbage and it was great. Also tried their banana pudding and that was the best pudding I have eaten ever. Simply awesome. Also the owners Tyron and Melva and great people. Very Nice and friendly. Recommended if u r looking for a Good Jamaican food at a reasonable price :)
MoreEdit: Alot of their Gluten free options are NOT Gluten free. There's hoisen sauce in the brown colored sauces and the soy sauce in that has wheat in it. So be careful and do jerk chicken or curry chicken instead of the brown colored sauces.
MoreBest Jamaican within several hundred miles to my knowledge.
Go there everytime in town. Food and staff are spectacular! And so are the prices.
MoreI love the food. Reasonable price. Excellent curry goat, chicken and my favorite oxtail. Don't miss this.
MoreLoved it. It was clean the service was quick. Food was delicious. Had the oxtail it just melted in my mouth. The people working there were super friendly. Haven't had that good of a Jamaican Patty since I moved from Brooklyn. Price was reasonable. If you haven't tried Jamaican cuisine stop by and try it.
MoreI hope more people start coming here, I really appreciate unique places like this, on top of that it is family run. They aren't getting a good review based on that alone, they earned it because of the value you get here for your money. You can not eat this cheap anywhere else that I know of without going through a drive through, and the food here blows that all out of the water in quality.I paid $7.22 for lunch. Protein and your choice of two sides, and the portions are more then fair for that price point.
MoreBest Jamaican food I've had in a while. Excellent and friendly service. Definitely coming back.
MoreThis is one of the best restaurants around!!! Authentic and DELICIOUS!!! Owners are so nice and inviting. I love this place!
MoreAmazing food and service, always!
U fortunately was closed down😢
Amazing food and awesome service.
Amazing food
The food was phenomenal!!! The man we met was so kind and great at explaining dishes to us. I am a huge foodie and I will definitely be visiting again.
MoreBy far the best meal I had all week!! The Oxtail was fall off the bone tender, beautifully juicy, and had a spice level anyone could handle with various hot sauces to satisfy more aggressive tastes. My two sides, Red beans & rice and collard greens were equally welcome on the plate!!
MoreGreat place and great food!
Taste of Jamaica is excellent. Lots of good homemade food for a really good price!
MoreThis is easily the best food in the area. Corning/Horseheads/Elmira - you won't find anything else like it. We had the red snapper and oxtail with red beans and rice and fried plantains. Everything we had was delicious. Their homemade hot sauce is phenomenal. The prices are more than reasonable and you get a generous portion. We will definitely be going back.
MoreA nice bit of culture in the area. Friendly staff and an unexpected vegan selection that's worth checking out.
MoreExcellent food and service!! Oxtail was out of this world. Traveled 45 minutes to try it and we will be back!!
MoreVery good food and exceptional owners! Friendliest people you will meet in awhile. I highly recommend the jerk chicken and Curry shrimp.
MoreGreat food, comfortable atmosphere, kind and courteous service. I have no complaints at all, and highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Jamaican food.
MoreSooo delicious, I highly recommend.
Delicious meals- we've tried the lamb stew, oxtail, escovitch fish and more. The house made hot sauce adds heat if desired. Friendly family, nice atmosphere. Desserts (coconut cake, bread pudding, etc) have also been excellent.
MoreAlways a treat going there. The food is fresh and Amazing!
Best Lamb stew in town.
Wonderful food. Very clean. Great Atmosphere and Experience. I brought 3 little tired kids here as we were traveling through this town and it worked out great. They all found food that they liked, everything was delicious and we would highly recommend!
MoreCool little place. Food was great. I'd definitely eat here again when in town.
The food was great.
I ordered the ox tail platter with fried plantains and red beans and rice, with a side of spicy jerk chicken. First off the food was amazing, and the restaurant was very clean. To top it off the people were extremely nice and poured their heat and soul in the food and the restaurant. Given the chance I will definitely be stop again.
